Research Assistant

Mitch is a Master’s student in the Department of Soil and Environmental Sciences. He joined the program after earning his B.S. in Plant Biology from the University of Michigan in 2020. Mitch is a soil biogeochemist whose research focuses on developing best management practices for efficient fertilizer use in dairy cropping systems, with particular attention to how manure management influences nutrient availability and greenhouse gas emissions. Outside of science, he enjoys backpacking, cooking, and exercising.
