Alexa Kloske
MS Soil Science (Balster Lab)
Project Assistant

Alexa obtained her BS in Environmental Science at Auburn University. There, she joined the soil judging team and developed deep passions for soil science and teaching. Since joining the Balster lab, she has honed laboratory and field skills and learned about pedagogy through the development of a new agroecology course. In her free time, Alexa enjoys playing ultimate frisbee, baking, crafting, and spending time with her cat Bernie.
Her research is focused on the effects of composted biochar on chemical and hydraulic properties of soil from the Wilson State Forest Nursery. She is excited to contribute to the scientific community in this novel field of research.
