The estate of Elsa Thomsen established the Louis and Elsa Thomsen Wisconsin Distinguished Graduate Fellowships to support graduate students who demonstrate excellence in research. Four fellowships have been awarded for 2020-21 with one awarded to Jaimie West (PhD Research Assistant with Thea Whitman). Congratulations, Jaimie!!

Congratulations to Michael Braus (Research Assistant with Thea Whitman) for successfully defending his PhD research on Monday, April 13. His seminar presentation was entitled ““The acidity and proticity of soil microhabitats.” Michael is currently lined up to teach Botany 100 this summer at UW-Madison  and is working on what the next step will be after that.
